The five-day intensive
training course offered by the Utah South Area Family History
Training Center covers both the research and computer aspects
of Family History work. This class runs Monday through Friday
from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is held every four or five weeks
throughout the year. This training is available for Family
History Center workers, Ward and Stake Consultants, and ward
and stake members in need of Family History training.
After reviewing the information on this page, if you wish to enroll
in one of the sessions, please respond as directed in the "Registration"
section below. Please note that there will be a $40 per person fee
charged to defray class costs. Acceptance to the training course
is based upon availability of seats in the class you request. You
will be notified of your acceptance and will be given instructions
for submitting your registration fee at that time.
We will take standbys for full classes (when a class is full, "Full--Standby Only" appears in red after the class date in the list below). If you select a full class when you register, you will be given the opportunity to indicate an alternate class as your second choice.
NOTICE:
The Five Day Class now incorporates instruction on the New Family
Search program.
Most classes are followed by a hands-on laboratory period
with individual one-on-one training for each student. The
curriculum includes training in the research process and computer
training covering PAF 5.0, all aspects of FamilySearch, FamilySearch
on the Internet, and clearing names for the temple using the
